Review: Frickenschmidt Foods Teriyaki Snack Stick

This unplanned review was a family affair. Our little guy kept grabbing at my stash during dinner. (Note to self: Move stash!) He grabbed a tasty looking Frickenschmidt Foods Cajun stick and asked:

A thought popped into my head: Bribery! I told our little man that if he ate all of his dinner, I would open the stick for him. After some compromise, we managed to get him to eat most of his chicken and guacamole and approximately 2 grains of rice. Close enough, little man!

I managed to switch out the Cajun flavored stick for a Teriyaki flavored stick (another Frickenschmidt foods snack stick!) since the former might be a bit spicier than this toddler’s taste buds can handle. I’m not normally a fan of Teriyaki jerky/sticks, but I’m more than willing to eat one in the name of science.

As I opened the package I noticed that it looked a bit greasy, but not as greasy as the Frickenschmidt’s Original Snack Stick. The first bite started off a bit slow, but a burst of sweetness quickly kicked in. The flavor stayed strong through the chew. Not a lot of aftertaste. Sort of a bell-curve of flavor. I managed two bites before the Beef Thief got hold of the stick. Mr. Thief really enjoyed it! I managed to sneak a few more bites, but he tore through roughly half of it while I was feverishly taking notes and taking bites.

The stick was moist and tender, not chewy or stringy at all. Each bite was a consistent curve of sweet flavor. I’m not sure this swayed my opinion on Teriyaki sticks, but overall I enjoyed it.
